The Darkness
I lie down in my bed, Resting my head on the pillow. With the darkness, Taking me in its arms. Consoling me, While I shed tears. Reassuring me, With the forlornness I fear. Everything feels so cold, With the darkness beside me. But then I hear a whisper, Feeling warm on my skin. "You're not alone" The voice utters. While I sob breathlessly In terror that, The darkness will also disown me, Once the light appears.
